Dr. Sougata Bardhan
Associate Professor

Sougata Bardhan is a research leader in the field of regenerative agriculture, soil health, and agroforestry with more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, 4 book chapters, and multiple extension/popular articles in reputed outlets to his name. He has secured approximately $52 million in extramural funding, with roughly $5 million as PI. He is a leader in STEM workforce development working with organizations such as NASA, USDA, and other private entities to build the future workforce.
His knowledge base also includes biofuel production systems, agronomy, soil fertility, carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas, and soil microbiological research with expertise in experimental design, research and analytical skills.

Ms. Anonya Akuley-Amenyenu
Laboratory Technician
Soil and Water Research Group
Anonya Akuley-Amenyenu is a Research Associate with specialization in cultivating international, alternative, and niche crops for both field and greenhouse environments, aimed at supporting small farm producers in horticulture. She also contributed to the Outreach program within the Cooperative Extension Program, assisting small producers, veterans, and women in agriculture.
Her research activities include surface water monitoring of significant watersheds in Middle Tennessee for pharmaceuticals and personal care products. I have also assisted with the preparation and laboratory class for AGSC 1200 Introduction to Plant Science and AGSC 2200 Fundamentals of Soil Science. She has B.S. & M.S. degrees from Tuskegee University, Alabama.
